Jason “Boogie” Santana is a talented NYC native artist with a rich and diverse background, boasting over 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and teacher. Although his artistic career initially began in the realms of theatre and acting, Jason has always had a passion for freestyle dance. He eventually decided to take his skills to the next level by enrolling in training at the renowned Broadway Dance Center. Following that, he deepened his artistic journey by becoming a member of Culture Shock NY and “The Movement” Dance Company, where he quickly garnered recognition and began making a name for himself within the vibrant NYC Hip Hop Dance community while signed to Bloc NY.
In 2011, he had the incredible opportunity to tour Japan as a lead performer in “Electric City,” a groundbreaking hip hop theatrical show that received excellent reviews throughout its run. After this experience, Jason was selected to join one of the most prestigious professional dance training programs in NYC, Motivating Excellence Season 2, where he trained rigorously with none other than Rhapsody James, one of the city’s top choreographers and educators. In 2014, Jason made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where he became part of the esteemed teaching faculty at Millennium Dance Complex LA and EXPG LA.
Throughout his career, he has traveled extensively around the world, sharing his knowledge and passion for dance with students of all ages and skill levels. In 2016, he founded his own event company, “Leave Your Cool,” which is dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where individuals can come together to exchange ideas and learn from one another through the mediums of dance and music. After several successful years in LA, Jason returned to NYC in 2021, where he became part of the teaching faculty at Brickhouse NYC.
Over the years, Jason has had the privilege of working and training alongside some of the most influential names in the dance industry, including Rhapsody James, Luther Brown, Josh Smith, Taja Riley, Laurieann Gibson, Tony Tzar, Michael Rooney, Marty Kudelka, Chris Grant, Jaquel Knight, Jermaine Browne, Luam, and Adrian Wiltshire. His impressive credits include notable performances with musical icons such as Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Faith Evans, Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, Katy Perry, TLC, SNL, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Jack Harlow, and Trolls 3.
